IV would have very different pharmokinetics, rapid serum levels, and perhaps lower doses needed. Again in the EIND experience the onset took 3 days. I am using my knowledge from my pharmacology course 32 years ago, I am sure someone will look google and disagree. But my critical care experience it makes sense. I think the half life of 14 days is based on slow absorption, at day 7 there is 75% drug left. Continuous infusion could keep therapeutic levels maximum. Of course this would require phase 1 studies.
