We’ve all been trained from day one to look at m

So naturally, being measured for so long, I figure it’s high time I do some measuring myself. Nice to be the measurer for once, and not the measured. I’m gonna measure the crap out of the next thing that comes along.
So along comes the Verb 10k. Aha!!!!!! I’m gonna scrutinize the shit out of this until the cows come home. Im gonna measure this like there’s no tomorrow.
First thing I do, like every other 10k measurer in the world, is pull up the top line. OH FUDGE!!!! My measuring has already made me sick to my stomach. So I start analyzing the margins and the percentages and the differentials and the comparisons and the Q over Q’s and the year over years and the digitals vs the non-digitals. All making me nauseous.
And no one is posting on iHang except Mrs Peach Schnapps. Double fudge! Ok, I’ll don the hazmat suit and slum it and head on over to iHuck and see what they are saying. Oh boy. They’re beating up on margins and compensation packages and Dangling Chads and who gets the last spot in the spaceship to WhoVille.
Then I realize, what I should be measuring is the measurers vs the non-measurers. People like Poseidon, Thunder, NT, Red, and all the folks that seem so ecstatic after Verb had the absolute gaul to post a Q over Q top line loss. And here is what they taught me:
1. Nothing in this life is guaranteed, least of all an investment.
2. iHuck is the last place you should ever spend an ounce of your precious life on earth except if you feel like stirring the chum box, “for entertainment purposes only”. Kinda like when you rub Tabasco in your eye for the heck of it. Side note is I do like Tabasco in my eye from time to time and thus enjoy dabbling with Linda Blair.
3. Livestream is mushroom clouding in China (in a very good way)
4. Verb has a product in the livestream realm that kicks ass
5. Livestream is heading to the good ole USA
6. Salesforce and Microsoft are kicking the tires.
7. Not only does Verb have a product in the livestream realm, they also are leveraging the poopy out of it by creating a destination site that uses that tech themselves instead of just farming it out to the monthly subscriber.
The rest of it is noise. Yes, it is a gamble. Yes, you may lose money. And yes TenKay, Sixthman, HerbieWest, Yeager, and the rest of the Hitler Youth sit below cockroaches in the food chain. But to me, based on who is kicking the tires, and what we have seen to date, it is a risk I am willing to take. It may take longer than we all want, it may be more painful than we want to endure, but we will get there.
