2012-06-21 08:00 ET - News Release
FORT LEE, N.J., June 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Herborium Group, Inc., ( HBRM) www.herborium.com , a Botanical Therapeutics® Company announces today that it has begun a commercialization of its proprietary all herbal ingredients based Energy Drink and entered into manufacturing of the product. Herborium energy product is expected to be on the market in the Fall of 2012 and will complement the Company's sexual health product line. The energy drink category represents $8 Billion market and is the fastest growing niche in the beverage business, up 16% over the past year.
Herborium's all herbal energy product represents the most demanded subcategory of energy drinks as it is all natural and does not contain caffeine, sugar and Vitamin B12, B6 or B3 that in larger amounts are considered dangerous, and are presently included in most energy drinks on the market. There is over 5500 caffeine overdoses in the US every year, and about 45% occurs in those who are younger than 19-years old. Several countries and states have debated or restricted sales and advertising of those energy drinks that contain caffeine. Denmark, Turkey and Uruguay have banned them; Norway prohibits sales to children under 15.
"We are extremely excited to move into the commercialization stage for our unique healthy energy product that can also fight jet lag and has no adverse effects. Our product contains a proprietary blend of herbal extracts that provide for an immediate lift of energy and alertness as well as for longer lasting beneficial effects, without jittery feeling and a "crash" associated with caffeine and sugar containing drinks. We believe that this is the right time to enter this rapidly growing market niche that also interfaces with a $50 billion health food sector. By using science of Botanical Therapeutics® to meet growing market demand for energy drinks and natural products we expect to achieve an exponential growth of our market share and revenues over the next 12 months," stated Dr. Agnes Olszewski, Chairman and CEO of Herborium.
