“Can you provide a source for your assertion that the CEO is adverse to government funding?”
The question of government funding has come on conference calls a number of times.
I specifically recall NP stating (I believe it was prior to CD 10 results) that the process of securing funding was labor intensive and Cytodyn was focusing its resources on the trials, which he saw was a more direct path to revenue. At the time recruiting forCD 12 was the priority.
In other conference calls NP has said he can’t comment (insinuating discussions may be occurring) on government funding to saying funding will be available after trial results.
My experience dealing with the federal government on funding (in a different industry) is that it is a very rigid, lengthy, arcane, and often competitive process. My hunch is that Cytodyn may have engaged in a very early part of that process but was told to come back with trial data. Again, only my hunch based on the range of comments NP has made.
