I don't get it that they don't get it. Looks like they keep looking at the sensitivity of the test on a per single-use basis, ignoring the fact that these type of tests were designed to be affordable and for frequent use in order to identify when the individual is the most infectious to others which should be on average 5 days. PCR is actually not such a good tool for this purpose as it takes too long to get the results for it to be effective at breaking the chain of transmission. I personally tested PCR negative 3 times (thank God) but it took a WEEK in every case to get the results. It would make sense to do a PCR after 2 rapid LF positive tests in my opinion provided that the individual would quarantine right after the first positive result. Sounds like the new administration is pushing and pressuring everywhere they can to turn this pandemic situation around quickly so let's hope there is a change in direction of the entire testing strategy which is costly and completely ineffective. Over half of million people lost their life to this, many more millions out of a job with many jobs lost forever... When will there be a change that can make a difference? I, as a father of 3, am desperate to get the kids back to school but not at the expense of their and our safety so would be really helpful if the FDA could just get these tests cleared to the public. if not Innova's, then any type of effective, rapid, and affordable tests so that people can move on with life!
