Everything would have been delayed another two weeks just to find out the same thing we found out now... the skew against age and severe /critical hamstrung the study. It wasn't that bad of a design, considering it was done in April of last year, and considering what was known at the time about covid. What screwed us was the trial being 85% severe, which +90% will resolve eventually on their own anyway, which is what we saw.
You don't know which arm those were in... quite likely treatment arm as the +65 cohort was skewed in that vs SOC, as well... Assuming just 1 was in treatment, 7 deaths is not enough to swing the PE, so you can stop beating that drum.
Someone should have been watching to make sure there was even distribution for age, sex, severity... That is where we got screwed, and management is blinded so they can't do that. Full stop.
