The s/c trial is not actually Leronlimab vs placeb

The s/c trial is Leronlimab vs SOC, which is any number of drugs approved or allowed. SOC could include remdesivir, plasma, Regerneron, Ivermectin, steroids, Vitamins, ventilators, oxygen etc.
Imagine if the s/c trial was Leronlimab vs sugar water, the reduction is deaths vs sugar water, would probably be 80%. How do multiple drugs for the same disease ever get approved? if they must be dramatically better than the approved drugs? How are there so many antibiotics? Are there 35 approved antibiotics?
Out of a 1000 critical cv10 patients who would have died on SOC, Leronlimab will save 240. So the FDA could say "no, let the 240 die due to a missed p value. If we did in fact miss it. It does look like for critical alone we missed it.
