This is a link from Jan. and may explain a lot about what was going on in and around the FDA last year, mostly in the upper management.

I know this is a liberal media outlet, but reading between the lines Hahn had no business heading this Department during a pandemic.
There was going to be massive pressure on any administration to get something out quick to look like they were doing something and that turned out to be Remdeathisnear, Gottlieb may have held his own against this type of pressure.
If you read the whole article you would see how bad things are or were at FDA, hopefully they have gotten better under JW, and the more scientific bent of the Biden admin.
I don't want this to turn into a political fight, I give credit to the Trump Admin. for get vaccines out in under a year when everyone was said it couldn't be done. They cleared the way for vaccines not concentrating enough on treatments.
So I give the FDA the benefit of the doubt, what would you do with a tiny OTC company, with no approved drugs, and at the beginning a questionable MOA. I know EINDs look good and CD10 was tantilizing but still only 85 patients. This is our moment to shine, if the Data is good, which I believe it will be, I think they want a winner as much as we do.
