My fear is that people never allow us to get ahead of this virus. We need heard immunity just to stop the ongoing new variants. The sooner we approach heard immunity the better. Some science says 70% of people will need to either have had covid or been vaccinated for it in order to stop the mutated variants. If we don’t stop the mutations we will eventually find a mutation that could be very serious. One that no vaccine will protect us and that has a very high mortality. Maybe Leronlimab is that answer maybe it’s not.
I want to go back to living life lie we use to. No masks and free travel with no restrictions. Whatever that takes. When I see a sub-set of our population not buying into the science whether they are for political reasons of what I would call misinformation about the vaccine. Or they don’t believe it because of a religious view. It saddens me that we have views that don’t trust the science.
You look at other countries like the UK and they are doing extreme measures by forced lock downs and I don’t see our country with all our perceptions of freedoms we believe we have participating in extreme lock downs. Those freedoms we all share are not for the greater good sometimes. They very well might be our undoing as a country. Is there reason to believe we are the worst county for deaths because of our freedoms we choose to exhibit? I personally believe that is one of our main problems. I believe we as a country need to come together and somehow get ahead of this virus. We won’t have the opportunity once the right mutation happens. There will eventually be a mutation that will be so leathal it will be a population set back like we may have never experienced. Equal to or worse than the Black Plague. We must stop it before that happens.
With that said. I don’t want to believe in dark predictions of terrible things. But without proper leadership to get us out of this predicament. We will slowly progress towards that direction. There has to be a better way to get heard immunity without accepting 30% of our population will not get vaccinated and we will need half of those 30% of those people to get infected before heard immunity is possible. That’s a whole lot of lives to allow to pass before we achieve anywhere close to the goals we need to achieve. I trust the science and believe in the vaccination. I only wish that more would believe in the science.
