"they are looking for a reactor engineer to build
Post# of 22454
"Oh, they need just one person to build continuous flow quantum dot making machines? QMC contracted with a consortium of three Dutch companies called Access2Flow to build the first one. How far we've come if one person can just make them one after another. Think how more and faster they could make them with a team."
The job posting was for one reactor engineer ("Number of hires for this role 1" ) to join their production group and the job summary highlights that the new RE will "build, test and qualify reactors", not just operate and maintain reactors.
To me this is a positive signal that they want to be building reactors in-house, not just buying and operating them. It also indicates that they see a future need for more reactors.
I don't know why they only posted for one RE, but they did.
Do they think one qualified engineer can build a reactor based on the existing design documents? Maybe.
Or maybe there are qualified individuals already in the production group that can work with or under the direction of the new RE to build reactors.
Or hiring one RE may just be the first step in setting up in-house manufacturing and more REs will be hired down the road.
