I would guess our study has an 8 week treatment period, 1 week screening, and 4 for follow-up, but that remains to be seen. I would guess we give 2x 350 mg doses once per week for 8 weeks. LL cost would be ~$1500/week = $12K?
Some of the feedback from BP's twitter feed are that:
Drs. Patterson, Yo, et al. (covidlonghaulers.com, youtube video last week, recent BP tweets) say they have 80+ providers, and have treated 500+ patients so far. BP says it isn't a clinical trial. However, he also says he is planning a "treatment" paper to go with the diagnostic paper for long-haulers / PASC. He says 85%+ "improve" on some combination of ivermectin, low dose steroids, and maraviroc. Some of the people being treated have said their treatment was $800 out of pocket for one week, but that some of their symptoms returned after just one week of treatment.
We won't know anything until we see some reports of outcomes for PASC. Hopefully FDA has finalized the endpoints they want to see, and we will be starting our trial soon.
The main problem with LL for PASC is that there is no way to use it off-label since it isn't approved for anything yet. Trial will take a while.
