Why would any short who believes in their short position BASH the stock right now? If they don't believe the results are good, why BASH the stock right now? If they don't believe that the mechanism of action of the drug works, why BASH the stock right now? Why not hold your short or short more? Wait for the result if you believe it will fail?
Why not? Because they DON'T believe in their own position, that is why! As soon as the results come out good or great, they can no longer bash the stock in this manner.
They must be stuck in their position right now, and AFRAID.
So, IMHO the fact they are BASHING right NOW is an EXTREME BULLISH SIGN.
And, the fact company is QUIET is a great sign IMHO because they are telling you the results will speak for themselves.
Why not? Because they DON'T believe in their own position, that is why! As soon as the results come out good or great, they can no longer bash the stock in this manner.
