To be fair, the efficacy being reported for these vaccines is considerably higher than the flu vaccines, and it appears that enrollment will be as well.
It's going to be around for a while because, the lower we bring the cases and mortality the less motivated the population will be to adhere to mitigation and vaccination.
In other words we will reach a level of infection that isn't scary enough to motivate us as a whole to stomp it out
