Over the years, Cytodyn has often "gone down" on positive news. It's grown worse over the last 12-18 months as Nader has stacked-up a few missed timelines and also "misspoken" on a few things (e.g. filing for m/m EUA).
Consequently, whether fair or not, many people here have their default trust-setting for Nader adjusted to "distrust." As a result, anything he releases neutral or even positive gets interpreted as massaged truth or exaggeration.
In the case of today's PR, those who jump to distrust have obviously interpreted the PR to mean Nader is hiding sub-par trial results. They assume he's trying to stall or pull the wool over our eyes based on their personal feelings towards the guy (and track record).
If those same people could suspend that suspicion, they might see that all of the signs and pieces of the puzzle point towards something positive...
The insurance billing code for Leronlimab.
The restart of EINDs (which are ongoing).
The OLE annoucenement (again, ongoing).
The PR itself actually sounds positive. Again, you don't discuss poor results for weeks on end and "eagerly" await the conclusion of those talks.
Then of course, there's everything we know about LL and it's MOA -- stellar stuff.
Anyway, that's my take. I think NP released the PR today for a multitude of reasons -- the SA hit piece released last night; the declining PPS over the last week; the angry emails from shareholders he's been getting begging for news, etc. So with his hands largely tied about what he can say during talks with the FDA, he released the PR to make us aware unblinding has happened and talks are underway.
Simple as that.
