People who think they just count the dead amaze me. Like that's all a trial is. Imagine that press conference.
We report 87 deaths in the trial. 40 in this arm, 47 in this arm. Questions?
"can you explain how the 40 people in that arm died?"
"Nope. Didn't look at that. Next?"
"What about a distinction between critical and severe?"
"No idea. We haven't looked at that data yet."
"How many patients treated had some kind of co-morbidity that..."
"Look, I'm going to stop you right there. All we did is count the deaths and call a press conference. We used our smartphones to do it. It was as easy as the guy on the internet message boards said it was. Not sure why everyone else bothers with all that analysis malarkey, when you just need a lot of fingers and toes. You all have a nice day, I'm going to Bermuda. Peace."
