The problem is not that Joe doesn’t have a firm handle on what is happening, but when it will happen, which for the most part is COMPLETELY out of his control. Some people on this board think that what Joe is doing it is like baking a cake that has a precise time and temperature for completion.
No matter what Joe says about timing, he can never win, unless everything goes perfectly. How did that go during your 35 years? Rarely, during my career.
When I was young, patience WAS a virtue. Now if a person, that is at the fast food takeout window, dares to take a few seconds to look into their bag to see if they got everything they ordered, they get honked at by the person behind them. A simple “Hey Joe, on that 7-10 day time projection, got an update?” would work for me, and then I would let them answer without interruption. Lambasting with a tirade before giving a person the opportunity to explain was never productive.
The unfortunate situation is that communication with Joe is unique. We just can’t call him up and have a heart to heart talk. What he says and when he says it is governed by the SEC. So frustration ensues and it is natural. Thus we must either endure or leave.
