I've done a few years lobbying in DC. If you're having trouble with an agency it doesn't hurt to have a Senator, or proper committee member, asking questions. But it's a pricy process and they can't change the data. They can influence where money goes, particularly a relatively small amount. If CYDY had a lobby firm, extraordinarily doubtful, it would be timely to have some weighty politician asking how the data is coming and asking for copy of results as soon as available so she/he can get a scientific consult. Now, back to the real world.
