Could it be it didn't happen because the gun grab of 93 turned into the let's put assault weapons up the dimmy's butts of 94? The dimmys kinda lost their taste for gun grabbing after that election and I think it did a lot to keep their appetite for gun grabbing in check for a long while after that.
