We can only attempt to save so many lives bc hundreds of millions were funneled into vaccines that are at best a temporary stopgap (and may actually increase the severity and lethality of the virus over time.)
What happens when a cure, any cure, is announced but with "only a million doses"? Which of the currently infected get it? How do you make that determination? Why do you use whatever criteria you end up with?
Even the solution to this is going to be a shitshow.. I'm not expecting any major shift until supply can get established. The longer this drags out, the more inclined I am to believe that this is the very issue that's taking so long.. you cant just say "we have a cure, but you can't have any." "We have a cure and in 6 months we'll be able to treat 10M people" sounds much better.
