I don't disagree that it is shortsighted. But, at present we have unknown data, and a list of indications. In my opinion, at present an offer in excess of $80 a share would be approved in a heart beat. In fact, I think they would be foolish to offer that much. I believe that the investor base would approve that offer.
What could change that? Data release. EUA. If our share price jumps to say $40 (not a prediction), on news of an EUA, I think that offer becomes too low. Its all about the timing.
I want to see this thing through, but in all honesty if someone offered me $80 a share today I would have a hard time not taking it. However, if we get data that shows we reduced mortality by 50%+, it would become a lot easier to refuse.
At the end of the day I think this is moot, as I don't believe there is a buyout offer coming.
