A lifesaving $3k treatment obviates the need for things like vents and dialysis, and turns monthlong stays into days. Insurance will be thrilled at the prospect. This is how a market works... Worldwide demand will outstrip production for possibly years, but desire to have and ability to pay are two different things. Production will be ample for those who are capable of buying in a relatively short period of time. Once it scales up, price can be lowered and access expanded.
