This is getting ridiculous.
I am all for testing and having logical standards in place to protect the vulnerable, but this is going to cause a number of problems now, and in the future.
First, it was "15 days to slow the spread". Then, it was "let's wait for a vaccine", followed by "the vaccine may not stop transmission; you need to continue to social distance and wear a mask".
Now, we potentially have a different strain. Back to the drawing board.
This will perpetually push lock downs for who knows how long. We cannot continue to provide Covid stimulus checks and print money. The monetary system will break down eventually from the incurred debt. Additionally, the government will most likely mandate Health passports and mandatory vaccinations, along with other authoritarian measures if Covid is to be a 1+ year issue from now. We all know half the population finds these measures authoritarian. The country is already split, not only politically, but because of the restrictions on Covid.
Quarantine and provide Covid relief to the vulnerable, the sick and elderly only. Open the country back up; loosen restrictions, stop printing money, and let's figure out an alternative solution. The majority of the country has been following the recommendations and guidelines, but we are still in the same spot where we started.
I am glad to be a part of QMC, and would like nothing more than to see my investment grow, but we cannot keep this up forever. There NEEDS to be a better alternative.
