In light of the overwhelming case presented by the House Managers so far, there really are no other options. Trump's only defense is a bunch of nitpicky bullshit about the process. The facts can't be denied -- it's incredibly obvious that he totally did it.
Some Senators will acquit because they're afraid of the insurrectionists -- either physically afraid of being targeted by Trump supporters, or afraid they'll lose their seats if they upset Trump's base. To vote against conviction for either reason is just cowardice.
Others will acquit because they agree with the insurrectionists. We already knew this, because half of them were already doing Trump's dirty work for him by directly spreading his lies after the election, up to and including objecting to the electoral college vote count!
The House Managers have been very careful to only point the finger at Trump, but they are silently indicting Cruz, Hawley, and the rest, because they were all in on everything Trump stands accused of.
I reckon every Republican who votes to acquit will fall into one of those two categories.
