I’ve been following this board and riding the roller coaster with you folks but never felt qualified to post or reply. Until the libation with pie and s’mores discussions arose. (Cake is for birthday parties and weddings and only eaten to be polite, IMHO.)
Pie is not for dessert. It’s just too filling. Sugar after a meal should only be consumed in liquid form or a bite or two of creme brûlée, if available. Pie is for breakfast, consumed with coffee. Period.
As for s’mores, I am a minimalist. Packages of graham crackers, Hershey bars and marshmallows are just too much to bother with for me. I prefer Keebler Stripes cookies. Though not made with graham crackers, it is a quick and delicious substitute. And you just can’t beat the burnt marshmallow oozing from the hole of the cookie. You’re welcome.
