NIH launches NeuroCOVID database
The NIH's new NeuroCOVID database will collect information on neurological symptoms associated with COVID-19 and biospecimens from patients who experience neurological problems with SARS-CoV-2 infection, as well as information about the effect of COVID-19 on pre-existing neurological conditions.
"There is an urgent need to understand COVID-19-related neurological problems, which not uncommonly include headaches, fatigue, cognitive difficulties, stroke, pain and sleep disorders, as well as some very rare complications of serious infections," said Dr. Barbara Karp of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.
