You don’t get it. If your a patient in the placebo group and pretty much clinically dead and live past 28 days because they won’t pull the plug . Does that help us or not ?? Maybe be on the secondary endpoints but not on the primary . I’m I confused or are you ??
My response:
Hm. You are correct, that hurts our Primary Endpoint, if the family won't pull the plug on a dying placebo patient, and he then dies outside the 28 days. Thanks for that scenario reallypeople. I had not thought of that. It is becoming more complex actually. Pulling the plug, I think would mostly apply to patients being kept alive by ventilation as "life support", but they can die (inside the 28 days) from other complications, other organ failure such that the family cannot say "don't pull the plug". It's feasible also, that some LL treated folks could die after 28 days. It's hard not to speculate when we have a lot of money involved, but I think we need some doctors who deal with covid-19 to give us better perspective on some of these discussions.
