I couldnt disagree more. Obviously if we flop completely no one will be interested, but we have a pretty high degree of confidence that will not be the case.
However, a more likely scenario is that we reduce mortality by a figure that doesn't quite get us a p value of <.05. Based on some of the statistical analysis done here and elsewhere, a reduction of 25% would fit this scenario.
Do you really think that if we reduce mortality by 25%, but have a p value of .06, that we wont get EUA somewhere? I find that extraordinarily unlikely.
