Dr Mina says is that rapidtesting large segments of the US population every 4 days would achieve the reduction in infected better than vaccines because the numbers of infected with the virus would rapidly shrink with mass testing.
He says that due to mutations, vaccines eventually have to be revised because they won't work against the new strains. (We don't know now whether current vaccines are effective against the new, more infectious strains popping up.)
He estimates that construction of new test making factories and programs might only cost one-tenth of one percent of what the virus has cost our economy and cost of a vaccination program, and there would be no need for contact tracing. Genius!
