To meet that goal, which works out at a million immunizations a day, he acknowledged that his administration would need to move several times faster than Trump’s and vowed to invoke the Defense Production Act to accelerate vaccine production and launch an education campaign to tackle vaccine hesitancy.
Biden promised to “move heaven and Earth” to get things moving in the right direction and said he will “spare no effort” to ensure people are vaccinated.
But even with a more aggressive response in place, the president-elect warned the process “will take more time than anyone will like and more time than… (the) Trump Administration promised.”
Things are going to get worse before they get better, Biden said, predicting “soaring” cases in the near future and a total of 400,000 Americans dead from Covid-19 before he takes office in January.
