given the warp speed and small number of participants its not surprising the mrna vaccines only ameliorate symptoms-
from what i've read thats all the new rrnaa vaccines are designed to do- program the body to develop specific proteins IN RESPONSE TO the infection-to fight the covid (will defer to mits if he has other info)
an analogy -shingles vaccines have been around a lot longer -yet the 2015 version was still only ca 2/3 effective(as per my DR) whereas the new 2019 shingles vaccine(in 2 doses) is more at 90% effective ( ibid)-in the rest of cases those shingles vaccines are only expected to lessen the severity
