since you asked, I gave you a thumbs down only because of a political remark you made in your post.
You said you didn't think our country could become more :humble, empathetic and compassionate" because of the way "socialism is spreading" in the US. Now it happens that I now live in a country (Denmark) that is at least as humble, empathetic and compassionate as America -- to put it mildly -- and also practices socialism. But that's not why the thumb's down; the thumb's down was because yours was a political post, whether you know it or think it or not.
My suggestion is that we argue about this in PMs. (Which is not a time of the month!)
