If it renders spike protein MABs useless, the same will apply for vaccines before long. There's a massive push by the vaccine makers, PFE especially, to dump their current vaccine as quickly as possible before they're made redundant by mutation. Bashing the spike MABs is front and center of that agenda.
But yes, I've been saying this for months now..the faster spread = more hosts = faster mutation rate.

The gestation period and infectivity window are so long that CV19 could mutate into a more lethal strain and it wouldn't matter much for the course of the pandemic... SARS1 was potentially 40% lethal, but had a blessedly short window for transmission... It would often kill hosts before being able to spread very far. Not CV19.
Everyone should be more vigilant than ever, imo.
