Your math assumes everyone in the CD12 trial was critical (e.g., requiring mechanical ventiliation). In reality, it's a mixture of severe & critical and unfortunately we don't know the breakdown. So assigning the greatest mortality rate to placebo is pure fallacy, IMO.
