Earlier this month, Brain Scientific (OTCQB: BRSF), a neurology-focused medical device and software company, announced that its proprietary NeuroCap(TM) would be available for pediatric patients in the United States. The company noted that the child-sized EEG headset reduces the time typically needed to measure and mark a pediatric patient’s head, as well as for post-test sanitation protocols; the company also observed that the pediatric-sized NeuroCap, designed for use with children aged 2 to 18, could be used in emergency rooms, intensive care units and clinics. A recent “Health Insider” article explained that EEG tests can be required to investigate seizures, sleep problems, brain infection, neurological disorders and pediatric epilepsy; in addition, doctors often order EEGs for children with symptoms of ADHD. “The pediatric NeuroCap is a wonderful example of a wearable technology that over-delivers due to its timeliness,” the article stated. “No one could have predicted COVID-19, and certainly most of the products such as NeuroCap weren’t originally conceived as a protection against pandemic infections. It has been interesting to realize that many wearable technologies — especially those that support telemedicine and remote patient monitoring — appeared in a just-in-time fashion.”
