DanDan, The blockade of CCR5, whether complete
Post# of 148187
The blockade of CCR5, whether complete or selective primarily for CCL5/RANTES has been an ongoing discussion.
Cytodyn scientists have stated that is a selective blockade, but I have not been able to find the evidence demonstrating that. The relative binding affinities of these ligands for CCR5 does not seem very well described, but is also way over my head.
The blockade of ccl3 and ccl4, inappropriately designated as monocyte inflammatory proteins rather than monocyte chemoattractant proteins, would seem to contribute to the amelioration/disruption of the cytokine storm/dysfunctional inflammation.
