I agree Americans' habits could change, but really disagree with Mackey's assessment of how, and the reasons for the current problems. Blaming individual, visible folks at the bottom of the food chain is, as it always is, a cheap and misleading way to blame the victim of machinations by those who are able to make themselves invisible. Think about the concept of food deserts...do you think Mackey's going to put a WF in one of those and charge prices people who live in marginalized communities could afford? What food choices do those people have? Yes, there's a *bit* of urban gardening going on, but the great mass of options is definitely not 'community garden to table', as it were. And I think JHB and Dr. D. probably agree with me on this...
