Beliefs change over time....as to cause and remedy..HIV was generally believed to be a "Gay Community" issue.....TOTALLY NOT TRUE".....and boy do WE know. Your observation of not in my backyard is totally accurate...until it's at your patio back door.
Before my entrance, into CYDY I was writing about the connivances of the CTIA lobbying arm and its efforts to stop legislation re; texting, talking while driving, etc. until some of the legislators lost children..only then did they become Advocates...zealots..to the cause....but, their children were gone.....my guess is their efforts became therapeutic for them....too little ..too late. The average year of loss for Telephone related deaths is around 4000, mostly the young..who are raised on electronics. Anyone ONE of them... could have been the instrument to save humanity from the scourge of disease, we'll never know..
