Social lockdowns may be the only answer to slowing

A society can choose to try to eliminate the virus through drug use but a sloppy inoculation campaign will let the virus slip through to infect and mutate another day.
The anarchistic/libertarian nature of capitalist society does not lend itself to the kind of coordination and discipline needed for effective lockdowns. The so-called freedom lovers who want to stand up to the virus will be mowed down by it, sooner or later.
The virus is a force of nature. You relate to it on its terms or you get mowed down, no less than by a hurricane or a polar vortex. Your wants and wishes concern it no a whit.
Even Leronlimab can only do so much. For the foreseeable future it can prevent some people from dying. We don't know how health a person will be if Leronlimab is given once the immunological phase of the disease has begun. Microclots seem to show up early. Once they have done their damage it may be too late to come out whole.
As the Pandemic picture is becoming clearer, it is clear that drugs as a solution is going to be a hard row to hoe.
Drugs will have to be produced in almost unimaginable amounts and they will have to be modified as time goes on. They would have to be administered almost simultaneously to everyone. Wait too long and some will be losing their immunity before others have even been given their immunity.
I could go on but I guess my point would be that the time for individual survival strategies is over. Hating your gov't is no solution. If you don't want to fear your gov't you had better work on making it your own. Of the people, by the people, for the people or we don't survive (or want to survive.)
Sorry to be so gloomy but there it is.
JLang, I think we are on the same page.
