Rep.-elect Luke Letlow (R-La.) has been transferred to an intensive care unit days after being hospitalized with covid-19, his spokesman said Wednesday.
Letlow, who won the race to represent Louisiana’s 5th District earlier this month, announced Friday that he had contracted the virus and was hospitalized the following day.
Andrew Bautsch, Letlow’s spokesman, said in a statement Wednesday that the congressman-elect had been transferred from St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, La., to Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport Academic Medical Center.
“The Letlow family is deeply appreciative of the medical team at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe for their fantastic care, and is thankful for all of the prayers and support they continue to receive,” Bautsch said.
LSU Health Shreveport Chancellor G.E. Ghali said in a statement that Letlow “is in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit where he is receiving Remdesivir and steroids.”
