I empathize with you. Your experience is not uncommon. We lost my brother in law last month while trying to convince his recalcitrant doc to apply for EIND (cancer). Amarex was geared up to help the process along. I'm not blaming the doc for our loss, but it contributes to our frustration at the whole system. We don't know if LL would have extended his life.
The fact is that the drug is not approved. MD's stick with what they trust and have experience with. I have friends who are docs; they're human. They act on what they know. They try, and mostly get it right. Sometimes they fail. It's a damn shame we don't know everything and aren't perfect, which has been expressed by multiple posters over the past 6+months here. I know that I would not have the courage and wisdom to do that work. I admire those who have what it takes.
Now, let's get a damn approval!
