Fake news of a Special Ops raid from a retired general a few french fries short of a Happy Meal

Retired Lt. Gen. Tom McInerney described Sidney Powell filing lawsuits to try to overturn a lawful presidential election in favor of President Donald Trump as a "counter-offensive."
"She also found out, through the Kraken, and the Kraken is the 305th Military Intelligence Battalion that works these kind of problems that we have Chinese and Iranian involvement," McInerney falsely said of the election without citing any evidence during a recent podcast interview.
The 305th is a training unit, a part of advanced individual training (AIT) that soldiers go through as a part of their initial entry training into military intelligence. The unit does not conduct operations or deploy abroad.
McInerney went on to falsely claim that an algorithm was used to change votes in the 2020 election, without citing evidence aside from his own instincts .
"This is treason on a massive scale," he said.
"We've mentioned before, the Special Ops seizing the servers in Frankfurt Germany," he continued, referencing a conspiracy theory holding that the 305th Military Intelligence Battalion supposedly completed a raid to secure a computer server involved in stealing the election. "We know that the facility in Frankfurt was a CIA facility, run by commercial people."
"It's not much of a cover," replied show host Michael Scheuer in agreement. Scheuer served as a CIA officer for 22 years, leading "Alec Station" charged with finding Osama Bin Laden after the 9/11 attacks. Today, he is an ardent QAnon adherent.

His guest on the podcast, McInerney also has a long history of making false statements and spinning unfounded conspiracy theories. He is a West Point graduate who flew combat missions over Vietnam. After his retirement in 1994, McInerney went on to become a Fox News military analyst in 2002.
During this time, he was also a part of the Pentagon's controversial Military Analyst Program which saw retired military officers used to sell the American public on the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Documents obtained through Freedom of Information Act requests from this time show the Pentagon referred to members of the Military Analyst program as, “message force multipliers” and “surrogates.”
In 2004, McInerney co-authored "End Game: The Blueprint for Victory in the War on Terror" with retired Maj. Gen. Paul Vallely. In the book the authors claim to have plotted out the invasion of Iraq over lunch at La Colline in Washington D.C. before pitching it during a live segment on Fox News.
The book advocates for a massive air and ground campaign waged by the U.S. military against a dozen nations (but not Saudi Arabia) simultaneously. Quaint statements such as, "the Syrian regime is a paper tiger that could crumple if enough pressure is applied to it," appear throughout.
That the rosy predictions he wrote in "End Game" for Iraq, Syria, and elsewhere never came to pass did not derail McInerney's Fox News career. Nor did going on air claiming that Malaysian Flight 370, which disappeared in 2014, was hijacked by terrorists and flown to Pakistan where the passengers were held hostage.
The claim was made on Sean Hannity's program without a shred of evidence. The wreckage of the airplane is likely at the bottom of the sea and has not been found, but credible evidence has revealed that the pilot was likely suicidal.
In another Fox News segment McInerney claimed that the United States need to go to DEFCON 1 saying, "something is happening out there and we are asleep at the switch.” He speculated widely as to what could be happening, theorizing about different types of attacks. DEFCON 1 is America's highest level of alert, including warning that nuclear war is imminent. The U.S. military has never been on DEFCON 1 before, and during the Cuban Missile Crisis only reached DEFCON 2.
McInerney was also friends with another former member of the Pentagon's military analyst program turned Fox News commentator, Wayne Simmons. Simmons claimed to be a veteran of CIA "outside paramilitary operations."
On air he would tell bizarre stories and make ridiculous claims. Some in the radio industry who had him on their shows noted he would slur his words. As was later revealed, Simmons was a fraud. He had never been in the CIA and Fox News was forced to fire him after the Department of Justice arrested and convicted him of wire fraud.
Despite his long track record of making false statements and failed predictions, Fox News did not fire McInerney until he went on air claiming that torture worked on the late Sen. John McCain during his time as a prisoner of war in Vietnam.
In a statement to the Army Times, McInerney doubled down on his false claims about the Kraken raiding a secret CIA server farm in Germany.
McInerney and Scheuer have both long advocated the notion that there is a deep-state conspiracy taking place in America to turn the country into a communist regime. Scheuer is known for talking about an imminent civil war in America.
Years ago, both may have been seen as semi-talented grifters but in 2020 with QAnon conspiracies taking off and governmental employees receiving death threats, the ideas they espouse have taken on a different tone.
The senile ramblings of old men using their military and CIA clout to influence a segment of the population already ramped up to the precipice by COVID-19, an economic downturn and their president telling them the election was fraudulent could prove to be incredibly dangerous.
