One of the investor conferences did do a nice job of showing the leadership team on some company info but don't remember which one.
From experience, it's getting the right picture and I've waited months for that from people. A cropped vacation photo doesn't go over as well.
Years ago on my company's website we were trying to do the same thing. White shirt or light colored clothing, turned a little sideways. It's less distracting than the use of a lot of color when doing a chest up. Neck up it doesn't matter.
Easier to do when everyone is in the office. Using a photo from years ago works on linkedin, but not so much on a company website. One company I worked at would hire a professional photographer once a year to shoot photos of any employee that wanted one to use on their internal profile page and app.
With the BOD, your happy just to have a picture
Another option like with Microsoft, Salesforce, Adobe and others is you do the close circle crop
