but I am generally optimistic, because I am not blindly optimistic, but rather optimistic in my own decisions and actions.
I've found that pessimism is actually a self defense mechanism. If you take the pessimistic approach, then if things go poorly you can take solace in bring right. Whereas if things go well you can take join in being wrong.
I view pessimism as a form of weakness if I can put all of my cards on the table.
