Step 5. CCL5 upregulates DNA repair mechanisms and PD-1, which when expressed on cell surfaces, blocks cell death from cytotoxic T cells.
Step 6. CCL5 driven recruitment of CAF(Cancer associated fibroblasts), MSC (mesenchymal stem cells) and T cells, helps created a microenvironment/wall of defense such that the cytoxic drugs never reach the targeted cancer cells.
