Most people who recover from Covid-19 have detectable neutralising antibodies months after infection. This suggests that Sars-Cov-2 infection does produce an immune response that is protective, at least for several months. To determine how long this protection lasts, unfortunately, we have no choice but to wait. Sars-Cov-2 has been circulating in the human population for less than a year, and there is no way to study immune durability other than to wait and see.
