"One of Ike's last requests was that his final resting place be in an eighty-dollar government issue casket, the same resting place as that of countless men and boys he had coached, trained, prayed for, and led into battles decades before. The only enhancement to the casket that held the Supreme Commander of the United States was an inner glass seal that cost $115. Even though he could have been buried at Arlington National Cemetery, Ike chose to be laid to rest alongside his beloved little son Icky, back in Abilene, his humble roots where his journey started. Ten years later, in 1979, Mamie would be laid to rest next to Ike and their little boy."
The above is from page 203 of "THE SOUL OF AN AMERICAN PRESIDENT - The Untold Story of Dwight D. Eisenhower's Faith" by Alan Sears and Craig Osten with Ryan Cole.
This is a pretty good book y'all. I recommend it.
