This May Be the Most Singularly Petty Bullsh*t I've Seen in All My Born Days

The way this transition is unfolding is crazy dangerous.

Go ahead Trump supporters and defend Trump's chicken shit behavior, accurately chronicled below. What a petty POS shit he's been and always will be.

From CNN:

Traditionally, the State Department supports all communications for the President-elect, which is why many countries began sending messages to State over the weekend. But with Biden prohibited from accessing State Department resources by the Trump administration, because President Donald Trump refuses to accept Biden's victory, dozens of incoming messages have not been received.

Biden's team is in touch with foreign governments without State Department involvement, and he has held numerous calls with leaders, including Germany's Angela Merkel and Canada's Justin Trudeau. But they are operating without the logistical and translation support that the State Department operations center provides.

This isn't just being stupid and petty toward the president-elect. It's being stupid and petty towards world leaders from countries great and small.

For example, suppose you're Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, the president of Turkmenistan, and you've just finished holding the ceremony for the beautiful new dog statue in your capital, and your aide reminds you that you planned to suck up t...er...congratulate the new President-Elect of the United States.

So you call the U.S. State Department and leave some best wishes. And your phone message, or email, sits on Mike Pompeo's desk, gathering dust next to the unopened copy of Hillary Clinton's memoirs.

So, come January 21, President Joe Biden is already running three hours behind on returning phone calls before he even gets to you. Everything breaks down and there you are, with nothing to do except worry about the Uzbeks.

(And, to be fair, dude is also trying very hard not to be as big a repressive crackpot as his predecessor , Saparmurat Niyazov, the guy who renamed the days and the months in honor of various details in his autobiography; he renamed April after his mother, who was not named April. And don't mock the dog statue. It pays tribute to the Alabai, a huge working dog trained for 5000 years to guard sheep and fight wolves.)

Or maybe this is the most singularly petty bullshit I ever have seen in all my born days. From The Daily Beast:

Other officials familiar with the matter noted that O’Brien has also pushed national security officials to publicly embrace the absurd Trump message that the election has not been certified and that there are still legal battles playing out across the country that could turn in the president’s favor.

“If you even mention Biden’s name… that’s a no-go, you’d be fired,” one national security official said. “Everyone is scared of even talking about the chance of working with the [Biden] transition.”

More serious is this business with the intelligence briefings. An incoming president really needs to know what he needs to know before he takes office. Senator James Lankford, Republican of Oklahoma, has pronounced himself prepared to move unilaterally on Biden's behalf. From CNN:

"There is no loss from him getting the briefings and to be able to do that," Lankford told radio station KRMG, noting that he sits on the Senate Oversight Committee and that he's already started engaging on this issue.

The Oklahoma Republican said if no progress is made on the issue by Friday, he will step in and say, "This needs to occur so that regardless of the outcome of the election, whichever way that it goes, people can be ready for that actual task."

We'll see if Lankford actually walks the walk on Friday. I do remember that, in its final report, the 9/11 Commission attributed at least part of the Bush administration's failures in that episode to the prolonged drama in Florida in the fall of 2000. This government changes on the fly every fourth 20th of January, and the way this transition is unfolding is crazy dangerous.[/b
