Sure do, let's scrap the EC. What if the elections for U.S, Senator were by county or zip code within the state? Each entity would be assigned electoral votes according to population.
Effectively disenfranchising each state's hillbilly population; less so in the deep south for obvious reasons. Stupid, huh?
So is the electoral college. If the state wide popular vote is good enough to elect U.S. Senators then why NOT so too the nation wide popular vote for the POTUS?
