Gmin, please explain why not everyone needs to be

I would think that everyone gets vaccinated. Also it will be good to have multiple vaccines due not only to supply, but variance. If the disease mutates the slight variance in vaccines may be good if there are multiple available vaccines. Also vulnerable populations may need a different type.
Lastly today I saw the news on Pfizer like everyone else, and it’s exciting that they are indicating 90% effectiveness. They think it may last up to one year, but this part cannot be measured until 9 months from now (est) There is a lot of room for improvement in the following aspects:
1. Long term effectiveness. This reminds me of the pneumonia vaccine...went from short term to 2years to 5 years of effectiveness with one shot.
2. Minimal visits to achieve benefit...could be reduced to one as patient non compliance is a significant challenge.
3. Cost. $39 is quite expensive on a per capita basis.
4. Effectiveness of delivery. Just the nature of mRNA is so unstable when combined with human error in the logistical chain that will result in issues.
With these issues being raised, this is an exciting day and I wish them luck. For those who think this is a “bad” day fir gnbt, it is not. It has been clear that GNBTs pathway is OUS. Also most of the market is as well.
It is clear to me that with the interest provided by the Chinese deal Joe’s vision is solid and the company product mix is an interesting and marketable one regardless of MRNA and US interest. It will be exciting to see what Canada & other countries do as it’s not feasible to distribute 100% of the vaccines from one company.
