It seems to me that the whole argument as to whether SeaSearcher works or not is like the paradox about the cat, it either works or it doesn't (the cat's either alive or not). We debate on here about it, some say they believe it works others say they don't believe it works. Until it is proven to work (or the cat observed to be alive) it neither works nor doesn't work. No one knows for sure, right?
However there is one part of the equation we must not forget... the owner of said device (cat) is telling us it works (is alive). Now that changes everything! The question changes from does it work or not to can we believe the owner or not? You either believe they are truth tellers or believe they are liars.
